14:31 copped the fifth edition and it vastly improved my work ethic and understanding holy shit definitely recommend
Pro Tip: if you do anything with cameras or screens in general, don‘t buy polarized sunglasses.
Tx, so you do sandpaper after each Poly coat? 220 grit ?
E-tape? paper tape?
Thanks some great ideas and good practical advice one can learn from.
This has encouraged me to get mine out again and use it (chrome version) I have a couple of the first Contax T’s (one of each colour, the black one is mint) , with the rangefinder focusing and fold down front . It makes you think rather than using digital 👍
Is this monitor good for photo and video editing ?
Here's another much worse way to do it ruclips.net/video/62eIUot7THo/видео.htmlsi=ciYLrTCQ3FP6Sgyx
Do you need to oil treat both sides of the table?
Great video. Thank you so much!
I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Does anyone know how long the bad smell lasts ? I left the table outside since 3 days but nothing changed !!!!!!
This guy is prepared for the worst possible outcome, he’s like Ironman when he learns from his mistakes
This was a great video! I'm glad to say that I have the majority of these tools, but being new to film electrical, I definitely need those books and the multitool. 😅
Has anyone ran into an issue where this camera thinks it's loaded with film when its not? When its empty it shows 26 shots. Thanks in advance!
Just found one in a biggggg grab bag full of 20 cameras total for $40 bucks at a thrift store
This is fantastic, I just worked on my first 48hour Film Project weekend and used this list as a guide, the director was impressed with the knowledge and things I had in my tool kit. Thank you for making it possible sir
Great breakdown. Thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial!!! quick question, can i clean the surface with a damp cloth to absorb more dust or does it have to be dry? would it affect the proces? how did you do it?
Okay, i have a Stylus Epic non-deluxe model, but mine has the quartz date? I dont have the panorama mode tho, which is useless anyways
quick question, does it has a old fashion roll to develop?
hi doea the top scratch easily?
Awesome video thanks. How long does it usually take for polyurethane to dry?
some wood conditioner would have been great to add before staining
This video is wildly helpful, I don’t know how you don’t have more views. I bet if you put “Filmmaking” and “Lighting” in the title it’d help, I’m not in the industry and as a RUclipsr the keywords for grip/electrician aren’t what I’d think to search for. Again, so useful
Well done, nice and concise. From an old film guy, you did a great job explaining and showing your kits. Thanks! Cheers from Flagstaff.
I just bought one of these for $2.50 with a really right stuff tripod as a bonus in a dingy bookstore. Seller thought it was a cleaning brush and the tripod was its handle! Joking aside I just sold one of these I owned from 25 years ago for $400 on ebay.
Tape
So I live in Northern California I do stagehand work , which consists of rigging , carp , grip Ect. What are some things I can do to work on films . I have done so many events but my heart lies in film
Is the Karlny solid wood?
been scouring my local antique and thrift stores for one with no luck 😔
Nice video, thanks. What did you use to rub down the stain? One of those old cloths? Do they not stick to the table since the stain is basically wet?
Found this for 10 dollars brand new in the box hidden in a bottom shelf. Love this gem and will keep it forever lol.
yoooo, loved this vid. If you're down to make more film industry vids, I'll watch em! I'm just starting out and wanna learn to be a good PA, gaffer, and eventually cinematographer. Thanks! Hope you're doing swell.
What game where you playing?
Did you go with the 42" depth?
Karlby is just a vaneer sticker sadly. For anyone looking to get it, just get the butcher block from home Depot for the same price.
Omg this thing about the focus!
Great video!
I can’t find the gerton on IKEA?
how long should i wait in between coats of polyeurthane
Hi, this might be a dumb question, but how did you manage to transfer film camera photos to your computer? They are of very good quality, doesnt seem like you took a picture of the fizical photo by your phone.. did you scan them? Many thanks for the help!
June 4th is my first day as a Grip PA on set! Thank you so much for your advice and recs!
I found one of these years ago at my dad's and he let me take it - I think I'm gonna go pick up some film this week and start a roll for this summer. thanks for the video, cheers!
Perfect
Probably gonna plan to do this soon but without the staining since I already ordered the darker version I expected the table to come in feeling pretty smooth, but am a bit dissapointed its actually somewhat rough
lately I've been using a bunch of those tiny strong magnets and combining then with everything, including zip ties. They are also great to hold screws.
Your local will have a list of MINIMUM REQUIRED tools. I’m sure yours says an adjustable wrench(c-wrench).
What do you use on your hair? Looks awesome.
I worked in a very high end condo as a security guard and found my stylus epic dlx among a pile of discarded electronics in the parking garage. I finally bought a battery to see if it works. Seems to be in perfectly fine condition; I think whoever threw it out just thought it was obsolete or not worth the effort to sell it. Between that, a first edition, sixth printing of In Cold Blood and a bunch of other great books, I've found a lot a treasure in wealthy people's trash. n_n
good find
